  • Rashan Card: Ration distribution rules have changed from September 1, food grains will not be available due to one mistake

Now ration material will not be carried forward

    Highlights

Now the ration of the previous month will not be distributed. Irregularities in distribution in ration shops will be reduced. Distribution of ration at the homes of elderly consumers.

State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal: Now ration material will not be carried forward in Madhya Pradesh. The ration material of the month will now be available in the same month. According to the new instructions issued by the Government of India regarding the food grains to be distributed under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, now a time limit has been set to distribute ration material to eligible families from 1st to 31st of every month.

Food, Civil and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput has said that now ration material will be available in the same month for which it is available. This system has been started from August. In August, ration material has been distributed to one crore 17 lakh 53 thousand eligible families.

The names of those who do not take ration are pasted

In the July ration material allocation, last month’s ration was distributed to about seven lakh 96 thousand families from August 1 to 15. Along with this, August’s ration was also distributed to these families.

A list of names of about one lakh 74 thousand families who were not receiving ration regularly for the last six months has been pasted at fair price shops so that they can get ration in August. SMS were sent to 13 lakh 33 thousand 470 eligible families who were not receiving ration from fair price shops till 25th August to get ration.

These will be the benefits of this ration distribution system

Food Minister Rajput said that through this ration distribution system, eligible families received the allotted ration in August itself. There was no need to wait for the next month to receive ration. Due to the stoppage of ration distribution in the next month (carry forward), irregularities in ration distribution from fair price shops (giving one month’s material instead of two months) have been stopped.

The Government of India will be able to pay the subsidy amount on the quantity of ration material distributed to Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation (MPSCSC) on a monthly basis. Distribution of ration material in the allotted month will facilitate storage of ration material for the next month at fair price shops.

14 lakh 38 thousand 630 families got ration through inter district portability

In August, under the “One Nation-One Ration Card”, ration was received by 3,644 families from other states in Madhya Pradesh and 34 thousand 667 families from other states in the state and 14 lakh 38 thousand 630 families through inter-district portability. This is more than in July.

As per the allocation of August, in the districts where the availability of ration material was less, about 25 thousand 600 MT wheat and rice was transported from other districts and stored at supply centers. Ration material was distributed to elderly consumers at their homes. This was monitored at the state level.

  • Compensation amount for tiger and wildlife attacks in Maharashtra is Rs 25 lakh, in MP it is only Rs 8 lakh

The government is making an action plan on wildlife attacks. Symbolic picture

    Highlights

Difference in compensation amount for wildlife attacks. Compensation amount in Maharashtra is Rs 25 lakh. Villagers are dissatisfied with the low amount.

State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government is now preparing to give compensation like Maharashtra for the loss of life in wildlife attacks. The process has begun in this regard, but only nine months ago this compensation amount was increased from Rs. 4 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh, so the forest department is facing difficulty in increasing the amount.

In Maharashtra this compensation is Rs 25 lakh

In fact, the compensation amount for loss of life due to wildlife attacks in Madhya Pradesh is many times less than that in Maharashtra. In Madhya Pradesh, this amount is Rs 8 lakh per person, while in Maharashtra it is Rs 25 lakh. A contradictory situation is being created regarding the compensation given for the death of a person due to wildlife attack on the state border.

This issue was also discussed in a meeting held recently with the officials of MP and Maharashtra and work will be done in coordination with both the states by making an action plan for giving compensation.

Compensation is less in MP compared to Maharashtra

Officials of the Forest Headquarters say that most of the tiger and leopard-rich districts of Madhya Pradesh are located on the Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra border. Due to this, it is natural for the compensation amount to be paid in Maharashtra to be compared with the compensation amount given in the state and it is also natural for the relatives of the deceased to get angry with the wild animals on receiving less compensation amount.

Local villagers are angry about the compensation amount and demand to increase the amount

The Forest Headquarters had presented a proposal to the government that in the cases of loss of life that happened in the past, the local villagers have demanded to increase the compensation amount. In the year 2023, three lives were lost to tigers in the buffer zone of Pench Tiger Reserve and one in South Seoni Forest Division.

Villagers expressed great dissatisfaction in the case and demanded that the compensation amount be increased from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 25 lakh as is given in Maharashtra state. Due to the low compensation amount, there remains a possibility of villagers affected by the loss of life poisoning and harming wild animals.
