West Bengal Chief MinisteR Mamata Banerjee on Thursday prolonged the continued Covid-19 restrictions until June 15, saying that the curbs have helped ease the pandemic scenario a bit.
The West Bengal authorities had introduced the present restrictions for 15 days from May 16 following an enormous surge within the variety of coronavirus circumstances.

“The Covid-19 restrictions within the state will proceed until June 15. This just isn’t a lockdown or a curfew. We will strictly observe the restrictions.
“It’s a relief to see that the ongoing restrictions have helped in easing the situation a little,” Banerjee informed reporters on the state secretariat ‘Nabanna’.
She allowed the jute trade to work with 40 per cent workforce instead of the present 30 per cent.
“We will see that the state’s economy is not disturbed,” Banerjee mentioned.
Essential providers will proceed working following protocols, the chief minister mentioned.
