Tata Motors is poised to reintroduce the Tata Sierra, a well-known SUV from the 1990s, to the Indian market. This vehicle will be presented with a new design and advanced features at the BMGE 2025 event. The initial launch will focus on the electric vehicle (EV) version, with petrol and diesel variants to follow.

The design of the new Sierra, as indicated by recent test models, is expected to closely resemble the concept model. Key features include a wide horizontal grille, slim headlights, and a full-width LED light bar. The rear will feature a robust bumper, sleek taillamps, and a roof spoiler. It is anticipated that a black roof and a panoramic sunroof will provide a floating roof appearance.

While official details are awaited, it is expected that the EV version will incorporate a dual-motor setup, similar to the Harrier EV, for all-wheel drive (AWD) capability and a range exceeding 500 km. The petrol version may come with a new 1.5-liter turbo engine, producing around 168 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. The diesel variant might have a 2.0-liter engine, delivering approximately 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. Transmission options will likely include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The interior of the new Sierra will feature a modern design, potentially with a triple-screen setup: a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch driver display. Additional premium features such as Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and ventilated seats are also expected.

The Tata Sierra is expected to launch in the Indian market in early 2026. The vehicle’s presence at dealer events and its regular sighting during prototype testing suggest that its development is near completion.
