Amaravati Pioneers Quantum Testing with Naidu’s Launch
1 min readA new chapter in India’s tech saga unfolds in Amaravati. On World Quantum Day, April 14, CM N. Chandrababu Naidu will commission two indigenous quantum computer test beds—one at SRM University and the other virtually in Gannavaram’s Medha Towers—establishing the country’s first comprehensive quantum validation ecosystem.
These facilities, born from domestic ingenuity, will test and certify quantum hardware, igniting advanced research and industrial synergies. The 1Q test bed by Qubetek and SRM’s 1S superconducting variant thrive at cryogenic extremes near -273°C, meticulously probing quantum elements for reliability and performance.
SRM’s facility shines with its open-access ethos, inviting researchers, academics, startups, and enterprises to innovate without barriers. This collaborative hub is poised to propel quantum progress at unprecedented speeds.
Leveraging expertise from TIFR, IISc, and DRDO, the project reinforces India’s deep-tech sovereignty. The high-profile launch will feature National Quantum Mission leaders, IIT experts, scientists, startup trailblazers, and scholars, with virtual participation from over 150,000 students across the state.
Andhra Pradesh’s visionary move not only boosts local innovation but also aligns with national goals, heralding applications in optimization, simulation, and cybersecurity that could reshape industries globally.
