Tata Sons supremo N. Chandrasekaran praised the India AI Impact Summit 2026 as a spectacular affair that unveiled India’s forward-thinking AI blueprint to the international community.
Engaging with media in New Delhi, he lauded the summit for consolidating and displaying all of India’s AI endeavors to top-tier leaders from various sectors.
Central to the proceedings was OpenAI’s alliance with Tata Group to develop India-centric AI data centers, prioritizing local data storage, fortified security, and enduring national capabilities.
OpenAI steps in as the first customer for TCS Hypervolt data centers, with initial 100 MW scaling to 1 GW. The facility will host OpenAI’s most sophisticated AI models securely in-country, guaranteeing compliance, data protection, and ultra-low latency for essential operations.
‘Partnering with OpenAI to pioneer advanced AI infrastructure in India fills us with pride,’ Chandrasekaran remarked, terming it a cornerstone for national AI supremacy.
He envisioned the collaboration revolutionizing sectors and equipping young Indians with AI skills for the digital age. Tata Group’s rollout of ChatGPT Enterprise, commencing at TCS with its millions-strong staff, will rank among the planet’s biggest enterprise AI rollouts.
The event solidified India’s position as an AI powerhouse, fostering collaborations that promise inclusive growth and technological self-reliance.
