Goyal Boosts Exports with FTA Strategy Session
1 min readIn a bold step to supercharge India’s exports, Minister Piyush Goyal assembled key officials and chief negotiators for a Monday review of ongoing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). Held in New Delhi, the session scrutinized progress and charted paths for accelerated growth.
Goyal posted on X about the productive talks, which covered incentivizing more firms to tap export markets, elevating India’s global product standards, and seizing chances to fortify roles in international value chains. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat integrated with global markets.
Fresh from these deliberations, Goyal met a prominent Japanese team spearheaded by LDP’s Takayuki Kobayashi. The dialogue emphasized strengthening India-Japan ties, fostering MSME synergies, and expanding cooperation in automobiles, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, and high-tech manufacturing—sectors ripe for mutual gains.
Goyal lauded the transformative impact of the four-year-old India-UAE CEPA, which has propelled trade volumes over $100 billion. Services trade has flourished, empowering Indian farmers, SMEs, and businesses with unprecedented access and opportunities for value enhancement.
Complementing this, a virtual exchange with UK counterpart Peter Kyle focused on maximizing the India-UK economic agreement to deepen trade and investment corridors. Such multifaceted outreach exemplifies India’s savvy approach to trade multilateralism.
These efforts are more than meetings; they are blueprints for India’s trade renaissance. By streamlining FTAs and cultivating robust partnerships, Goyal is steering the nation toward export dominance, economic diversification, and a fortified presence in global economic architectures.
