The latest iOS 26 update features a new Liquid Glass interface. The changes were showcased during WWDC 2025. The intention behind this design is to provide a consistent experience across all Apple devices. The new interface includes changes to wallpapers and icons, and translucent menus. The Control Center has also been redesigned with a translucent appearance, with the design changes being gradual.
Apple Intelligence features also arrive with the update. The Shortcuts app now incorporates AI-powered automations. The Image Playground gains the ability to change the expressions of people in the animations you create, and it now has ChatGPT integration. Genmoji lets users combine emojis into new creations and customize appearances. Visual Intelligence is now enhanced for screenshots, which enables unimage searches, calendar events, text translation, and asking ChatGPT directly from screenshots.
The update also includes new features like on-the-fly translation for calls, FaceTime, and Messages, with support for AirPods Pro 3 and later. Additional features include call screening, Hold Assist, new features for the Messages and Photos apps, and the introduction of new apps such as Preview and Games. There are also a number of enhancements for the existing apps like Music, Reminders, Maps, CarPlay, and AirPods.
