Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio has widened its lead over Airtel and Vodafone Idea in the race for new wireless subscribers. TRAI data reveals that Jio added significantly more wireless subscribers than Bharti Airtel in June. During the same period, Vodafone Idea (Vi) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) saw a decrease in their subscriber numbers. In June, Reliance Jio added 1.9 million net wireless subscribers, compared to Airtel’s 763,482. Vi lost 217,816 subscribers, and BSNL lost 305,766. The overall wireless subscriber base grew by 2 million, reaching 1163 million users. Jio now boasts over 477 million wireless users, while Airtel has more than 391 million, and Vi has over 204.2 million. BSNL has 90.5 million. Jio also leads in wireless broadband subscribers with 483.13 million users, ahead of Airtel’s 294.92 million. In 5G Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA), Jio added 253,201 subscribers, and Airtel added 201,781.
