A potential collaboration between Microsoft and Meta has been revealed through leaked images of an Xbox-branded VR headset. The headset, known as the Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition, is a move to expand the Xbox ecosystem through hardware partnerships, following the recent announcement of the Asus ROG Xbox Ally. The leaked images showcase an all-black headset with Xbox’s signature green accents, an included Xbox controller, an Elite strap, and a three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Rumored to be priced at $399, the headset is speculated to launch on June 24 and will offer 128GB of storage. The headset will be a more affordable VR option, and will feature the entire Meta Quest library, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, which will let users play games directly in VR. This lines up with Meta’s plan to license its Horizon OS to third-party hardware, a program that originally listed Xbox as a partner.
