Prime Minister Narendra Modi set the stage for technological advancement by launching the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital on Monday. The three-day extravaganza features top-tier discussions among tech innovators, startup founders, and government leaders on AI’s game-changing applications in vital sectors like health, education, and e-governance.
BJP MP Sambit Patra, speaking to media, described the summit as a catalyst. ‘Chief ministers joining hands signals India’s pivotal role in global AI,’ he said. The event promises to ignite innovation, foster entrepreneurship, accelerate research, and streamline development, alongside in-depth policy debates.
Reinforcing national agendas like ‘Make in India’ and ‘AI for All,’ the summit spotlights India’s emergence as an AI destination. Patra envisioned AI platforms propelling the nation toward developed status for upcoming generations.
Commenting on the India-US trade agreement, Patra highlighted tariff reductions as a boon, particularly for MSMEs long plagued by steep levies. Building on existing ties with the UK and EU, he cautioned on agriculture’s delicacies, advising patience for final assessments.
In West Bengal, the suspension of seven officials over voter roll lapses drew Patra’s approval. ‘No eligible voter should lose their voice—this is non-negotiable for fair elections,’ he declared. He called for BLO-level interventions to address complaints and prevent disenfranchisement.
Overall, the summit marks a strategic leap, blending ambition with actionable insights for India’s AI-driven future.
