Rapido is entering the food delivery market with Ownly, a new service designed to compete directly with Swiggy and Zomato. The core strategy involves undercutting competitors with food prices that are approximately 15% lower. This is achieved by implementing a fixed-fee-per-order system instead of charging restaurants a commission of up to 30%. Ownly also aims to improve delivery times and reduce fuel costs by maintaining limited delivery zones. Currently, Ownly is available in specific parts of Bangalore: Byrasandra, Madiwala (BTM) Layout, Tavarekere, Koramangala, and Hosur Sarjapura Road (HSR) Layout. Rapido has evolved beyond its initial bike taxi service, introducing auto rickshaws, parcel delivery, third-party logistics, and cab services. The Ownly food delivery service is being managed by Ctrlx Technologies, a subsidiary of Rapido.
