He mentioned that he is troubled by the threat of AI, especially if Microsoft cannot keep pace with the rapid changes in the technology. Nadella addressed these points during a town hall meeting, speaking about his personal fears regarding the company’s evolving culture. He noted that some of Microsoft’s major current business sectors might lose relevance in the future, similar to past instances of companies that once excelled and then failed, such as Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), which ultimately could not compete with companies like IBM.
