The IT giant, TCS, is facing a period of turbulence. Initial reports of 12,000 layoffs sent shockwaves through the industry, and now the imposition of a hiring freeze and a halt on salary increments for senior employees have intensified worries. The company is reportedly asking employees to secure projects within a short period, or risk termination. According to sources, there has been a delay of over 65 days in the appointments of experienced employees. The IT employee union NITES has written to the Labour Ministry, highlighting these concerns, marking the third such communication from the union regarding TCS’s actions.
