WhatsApp is a favorite instant messaging app, and for good reason. It provides users with a variety of features that enhance their experience. The company focuses not only on practical features but also on user safety and privacy. Among the many features offered are encrypted chats, ensuring the privacy of millions of users, and several excellent privacy features, including the Status Privacy feature.
When sharing status updates, many users prefer to hide them from certain contacts. Some users want to keep their statuses hidden from their office contacts, while others may choose to exclude family members or specific friends. To facilitate this, WhatsApp offers a privacy setting that allows users to control who can see their status updates.
How to Set Up Status Privacy:
When you are ready to share your status, you will see the ‘Status’ option on the left side of the send button. Tap on this option. After selecting this option, you’ll see ‘Who Can See my Status Updates’, and you’ll be given three options.
The first option is ‘My Contacts’, the second is ‘My Contacts Except’, and the third is ‘Only Share with’. If you want to hide your status from certain people, select the ‘My Contacts Except’ option and then click on the contacts you want to exclude.
This is how you set privacy when sharing a status. If you’d like to change your status privacy settings in advance, first open the WhatsApp application. Then, click on the ‘Updates’ tab, which is located to the right of your chats.
Within this tab, click on the three dots in the upper right corner. By clicking the three dots, you will find the status privacy option, where you can make changes to your settings before sharing a status.
