CES 2020: Samsung to unveil an invisible keyboard, humanoid robot and display to produce artificial sunlight

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 is just around the corner, and we already have a fair idea as to what we can expect at the tech event. Being one of the biggest tech extravaganzas of the calendar, CES 2020 is expected to see some of the biggest brands in the world announce blockbuster products and new technologies at the event.

One of the companies that have already confirmed the unveiling of a number of new technologies is Samsung. The company has said it will showcase as many as five new innovative programs from its C-Lab Inside program.

To remind our readers, Samsung launched an in-house incubation programme back in December 2012 called C-Lab (Creative Lab). It enables the company’s employees to form teams and work on a project they may find interesting while incubating startups as well.

Samsung has usually taken to CES 2020 to show off the projects at C-Lab and in 2020, five new projects will come out of C-Labs and be showcased at the event. While all of these projects are expected to be quite interesting, there will be some that will be more interesting than the others.

SelfieType

Arguably the most interesting of the projects to be showcased by Samsung at the event would be SelfieType. As Samsung explains, the technology will allow users to type on their devices with the help of a virtual keyboard that would interestingly use the phone’s selfie camera.

Samsung has revealed that the tech will use an in-house SelfieType AI engine that analyses finger movements captured from the selfie camera and then convert them into text via QWERTY keyboard inputs.

piBo

The next big thing that Samsung is looking to showcase at CES 2020 is a new humanoid robot called piBo. The robot is aimed at single-person households and has been created to keep users company with simple conversations and information about the weather.

piBo can also help users by looking up and analyzing facial expressions of users and the content of the conversation to give more suitable answers.

SunnySide

Another pretty interesting tech that will be showcased at CES 2020 will be SunnySide. Samsung claims it is a lighting device that produces artificial sunlight and automatically adjusts the light as the actual daylight.
