Uber paid an Indian researcher Rs. 4.6 lakh for detecting bug that allowed customers to take free rides

Ride-hailing app Uber had a bug in its system that allowed customers to take free rides internationally. The firm was unaware of the bug till an Indian researcher pointed it out. Anand Prakash is an moral hacker and founding father of a cyber safety agency. He was paid about ₹4.6 lakh rewards by Uber for detecting the bug.

Prakash found the bug in 2017 and shared the incident in a LinkedIn submit.
