Corporate competition is reaching new heights, with companies engaging in intense battles for supremacy. The race to dominate the field of artificial intelligence is particularly fierce. Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, accused Meta of attempting to poach OpenAI employees by offering substantial financial incentives. The alleged offer was reportedly $100 million.

This situation illustrates the extreme measures companies are prepared to take to gain an advantage. Meta, currently trailing OpenAI and Google in the AI sector, is reportedly determined to improve its position. Consequently, Meta seems to be attracting talent from its competitors by offering financial inducements. This aggressive strategy appears to be successful, as Meta has allegedly hired three OpenAI employees.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Meta hired Alexander Kolesnikov, Lucas Beyer, and Xiaohua Zhai, all senior researchers, from OpenAI’s Zurich office. Reports indicate that Sam Altman stated last week: “I’ve heard that Meta considers us their biggest competitor.” The recent hiring of OpenAI employees by Meta seems to substantiate this observation.

Meta’s strategy appears to be focused on building a strong super intelligence team. Having once led in open-source AI, Meta faced setbacks, including project delays due to employee turnover. Mark Zuckerberg is now actively seeking top talent to bolster the company’s AI capabilities.
