The Indian cricket team has a mixed record in England, with notable success in ODIs and T20Is, but a significant challenge in Test matches, especially at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The team has played 169 games in England, winning nine Tests, 45 ODIs, and six T20Is. However, at Edgbaston, India’s record is less favorable; they have not won a single Test match in eight attempts. The first of these matches took place in 1967.

Conversely, India enjoys a stronger record in ODIs at Edgbaston, having won eight of the twelve matches played there.

Looking specifically at India’s Test performances at Edgbaston, it’s evident that the batting has often struggled. They’ve only crossed the 300-run mark once in 16 innings. Their lowest score at the ground is 92, recorded in the first innings of their initial Test match there. The sole instance of a draw occurred in 1967, a year when India won the series. Memorable moments at Edgbaston include Alastair Cook’s 294 in 2011, which contributed to England’s comprehensive victory by an innings and 242 runs, with England scoring a record 710/7. More recently, in 2022, England successfully chased down India’s target of 378, winning the match by seven wickets.
