New Delhi / Ranchi – The fifth National Chief Secretary Conference, a three-day event from 26 to 28 December, commenced in the capital of India, New Delhi, last Friday. The grand conference is being led by the Prime Minister. Through this conference, emphasis is placed on establishing better coordination between the center and the states, implementing government policies effectively at the ground level, and strengthening governance through shared efforts. This discussion on key national development issues aims to further reinforce center‑state partnership. At the national level conference, the chief secretary of Jharkhand state, Mr. Avinash Kumar, the secretary of the Transport Department, Mr. Kripanand Jha, the secretary of the Planning and Development Department, Mr. Mukesh Kumar, and the special secretary Mr. Rajiv Ranjan, among other senior officials, are participating. The main objective of the conference is to share best work practices and develop an effective governance model through coordinated discussions with the Prime Minister, National Development Council, ministries of the central government, senior officials of states and centrally administered territories, and subject experts. The conference emphasizes the development of human capital. This year, there will be an in-depth discussion on broader topics such as human capital development, with special emphasis on five key areas, including early childhood education, school education, skill development, higher education, sports and extracurricular activities. The goal is to prepare a shared development roadmap for ‘Developed India’. This conference will not only strengthen policy‑making but also lay a solid foundation for inclusive, sustainable, and future‑oriented development through collaborative efforts between the center and the states.
