    Ranchi, the members of the Jharkhand cricket team, who are set to make history by winning the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The Chief Minister congratulated all players for this historic win and extended best wishes.

    ◆ The Chief Minister said: “Jharkhand’s victory in domestic cricket is a major achievement; the entire state is proud of it.”

    ◆ He emphasized the creation of a sports ecosystem in the state, saying that talented players will have chances to emerge.

    ◆ The Chief Minister added: “We must make Jharkhand a state that can assert a strong and powerful claim in the world of sports.”

    ● A strong start to integrating sports at the school and college levels.

    On this occasion, the members of the Jharkhand cricket team who won the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and are making history met with Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The team captain and international cricketer Ishaan Kish, together with the entire team, symbolically handed the winning trophy to the Chief Minister to celebrate the victory. The Chief Minister congratulated all players, support staff, and the JSCA and sent best wishes. At the residential office of the Chief Minister, with Minister Sudivya Kumar, MLA Kalpana Soren, and Principal Secretary Avinash Kumar present, the Chief Minister honored all players by giving them shawls. Meanwhile, the team captain Ishaan Kish along with all players shared their performance and experiences from the prestigious tournament with the Chief Minister.

    *Jharkhand has set a new record*

    The Chief Minister said that by winning the Shayed Mushtaq Ali T-20 Cricket Tournament, Jharkhand has set a new record in domestic cricket. This is a great achievement and a moment of pride for the entire state. Such victories at national level competitions boost sports in the state. Today, alongside cricket, Jharkhand’s players are delivering stellar performances at national and international levels in sports like hockey and archery, bringing glory to the country and the state.

    *Emphasis on creating a sports environment*

    During his discussion with cricketers, the Chief Minister placed special emphasis on creating a sports environment in the state. He said that an ecosystem for sports should be built, giving talented players opportunities to emerge. For this, a strong start to integrating sports at school and college levels must occur, so that talented players across various sports get better platforms and can further sharpen their performances. The state government will provide all possible support in this direction.

    *Initiatives to provide overseas play and training opportunities*

    The Chief Minister told the JSCA that the sports association plays an important role in advancing players. In this context, there should be an initiative to provide arrangements for playing abroad and training. This will give players experience playing in varied environments and improve their performance further. He also said that in the upcoming competitions, Jharkhand’s team should perform better and brighter, and the effort to strengthen the team must continue.

    *The revival of traditional sports*

    The Chief Minister said that with popular sports such as cricket, hockey, and football, the era of traditional sports is also coming back in a new form. Many tournaments of traditional sports are being organized at national and international levels today. In such a scenario, if someone wants to build a future in sports, many doors open for them. The Chief Minister assured that the government is always ready to provide all kinds of cooperation in promoting sports and players. We must make Jharkhand a state that can assert a strong and powerful claim in the world of sports.

    *State must regularly hold sports competitions*

    The Chief Minister stressed that sports competitions must be held regularly in Jharkhand. He said that competitions for various sports should be held regularly from the panchayat to the state level. This initiative will not only give players a chance to display their sporting skills but also bring forward many talented players who can shine their performance and bring glory to the state and the country.

    On this occasion, along with the JSCA President Ajay Nath Shahdeev, Vice President Sanjay Pandey, Secretary Saurabh Tiwari, Joint Secretary Shahbaz Nadim, and other association members, Jharkhand cricket team members and support staff were present.
