Sanju was returning after ploughing the field in Baghahi. Then his mother and two sons beat him so much that he died on the spot. It is said that the murder was due to an old land dispute.

Manendra Pandey, who lives in Bariha of Rampur Baghelan, said that his brother Sanju was returning for ploughing. At around 8 pm, Mrityunjay Pandey, Dhananjay Pandey and their mother of village Bariha stopped the tractor in front of their house, took Sanju down and beat him to death over an old land dispute.

A team was formed at the police station level under the leadership of Rampur Baghelan police station in-charge Inspector Umesh Pratap Singh and the accused were searched for. The police arrested Mrityunjay Pandey, son of Ramkhelavan Pandey, Dhananjay Pandey, son of Ramkhelavan Pandey and Kushumkali, wife of Ramkhelavan Pandey, all residents of village Bairiha, Rampur Baghelan police station.

The persons arrested in the above case have been identified as Mrityunjay Pandey, father Ramkhelavan Pandey, age 36 years, Dhananjay Pandey, father Ramkhelavan Pandey, age 30 years and Kushumkali, wife of Ramkhelavan Pandey, age 70 years, all residents of village Bairiha, police station Rampur Baghelon.
