    Naiduniya representative, Seoni: The revenue department got the tractor to run over the maize crop grown in five acres. This is the case of Chakki Khamaria village from Sakarda of Kurai block. This farming was being done on the land approved for the playground. After receiving continuous complaints, the revenue staff took this action on Friday and freed the government land from encroachment.

    Farming was being done for three years

    In Chakki Khamaria village, about 10 acres of land approved for a playground was occupied. Satyanarayan Chauriya from the same village was cultivating this land for about three years. This year he had planted maize on five acres. For the past three years, the Sarpanch and Secretary of the Gram Panchayat were forbidding Satyanarayan from cultivating government land. Even after this, he was not listening and was continuously cultivating and reaping the benefits.

    The playground could not be built

    To connect the children of the village with sports activities, the government had approved a playground in Chakki Khamaria village. 10 acres of land was reserved for this. The playground could not be built due to land being occupied and farming.

    On Friday, RI Rakesh Dixit, Patwari Abhishek Baghel and other staff reached the spot. In the presence of the village sarpanch, secretary and panchas, the crop was removed by running a tractor.
