    Loyalty and discipline of police personnel make peace, security, and an environment of trust possible in the state – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai

    Paid floral tributes to martyred soldiers by offering floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial

    Raipur, October 21, 2025/Governor Shri Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in the parade program organized on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day in the premises of the 4th Battalion, Chhattisgarh Armed Force, Mana Raipur. Governor Shri Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai saluted the brave martyred soldiers of the police on behalf of the people of the state and paid heartfelt tribute to them by offering floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial. The Governor and Chief Minister met the families of the martyred police officers and personnel and expressed their condolences. On this occasion, they presented shawls, coconuts, and mementos to the families.

    On the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, Governor Shri Ramen Deka paid tribute to the police personnel martyred while performing their duty and said that the country will always salute the immense courage, valor, and sacrifice of the police. He said that it is because of the dedication and discipline with which police personnel serve round the clock that it is possible for citizens to live their lives in an atmosphere of peace, security, and trust. He said that the responsibility of the police is extremely challenging—while maintaining law and order is their responsibility, it is also their duty to provide a fear-free environment to the citizens. He said that the general public should also adopt a cooperative and humane approach towards the police. Mentioning the Naxal-affected areas, Governor Shri Deka said that the Chhattisgarh Police have faced the challenge of Naxalism with strong determination, courage, and dedication, as a result of which an atmosphere of peace and trust has been strengthened in these areas today. He expressed the hope that in the coming time, the state will be completely free from the problem of Naxalism. Governor Shri Deka concluded by expressing his condolences to the families of the martyrs and saluting all police officers and personnel for their continuous contribution.

    Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that October 21 is the day when we remember the police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice for the security of the country. He said that the police and security forces remain alert round the clock for the safety of society amidst difficult circumstances and challenges. It is only through the loyalty and discipline of police personnel that an atmosphere of peace, security, and trust can be created in the state. This day is not only an occasion to remember the valor of those soldiers but also an occasion to respectfully salute the sacrifices of their families. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that security forces have shown unique courage against Naxalism in Chhattisgarh, and development work is now rapidly progressing in Naxal-affected areas. Schemes like Niyad Nella Nar, PM Janman, and Dharti Aba Tribal Village Upliftment Campaign are changing the picture of villages in remote areas. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the fight to eradicate Naxalism has intensified, and the state government is moving forward with determination with the resolve to completely eradicate it by March 2026.

    Saluting the immortal martyrs, the Chief Minister said that their sacrifice will always be remembered and will continue to inspire us with duty, discipline, and dedication.

    Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma said that our soldiers are continuously struggling with immense courage and bravery to eradicate Naxalism from its roots in Bastar. They are not only fighting Naxalism but are also playing an important role in advancing development work in Bastar. He said that the state government is committed to preserving the memory of martyred soldiers and assisting their families. Shri Sharma informed that a decision has also been taken to make the sacrifices of martyred soldiers immortal through a souvenir. He also provided information about the arrangements made in IG and SP offices to assist the families of the martyrs. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma concluded by remembering the bravery of the police personnel and paying them tribute.

    On this occasion, MLAs Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Anuj Sharma, Director General of Police Shri Arun Deo Gautam, Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, senior police officers, Divisional Commissioner Shri Mahadev Kanwre, IG Shri Amaresh Mishra, along with police personnel and families of martyred soldiers were present.
