For the years, tribal society has been protecting its social, cultural and religious rules and culture etc. as oral literature. They do not have any documents in writing, but now the day is not far when the social, cultural and religious rules and rites of tribals will be documentable. The work of documentation of the tradition and orthodox system of Scheduled Tribes residing in scheduled areas has started under our tradition-sum heritage campaign jointly implemented by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India and Panchayat Raj Department, Jharkhand. At present, as a pilot project, the team will be prepared at the village level for documentation in 9-9 villages of Dhalbhumgarh, Chakulia and Bahragoda blocks in East Singhbhum district. The order has also been issued by the Panchayati Raj Department of the Government of Jharkhand on 11 March 2025.
Committee formed for documentation
On Sunday, a committee was formed for documentation of tradition and heritage at the village level in Kuchiashol village of Chakulia block. In which a committee of nine people has been formed. In this, Mahiram Soren, Meghrai Mardi, Barisa Murmu, Sunil Murmu, Lakhai Murmu, Kishun Soren, Vijay Ballabh Tudu, Mahachand Hansda and Purnchand Murmu have been given the responsibility. The committee is formed by state level co-ordinator Panchanan Soren and Prof. Shyam was done under the supervision of Murmu. Let us tell you that in other districts of Jharkhand, the work of forming a committee is going on for documentation of the traditions and heritage of tribals.
