    Naiduniya Representative, Jabalpur: A petition has been filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court against BJP MP and film actress Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Emergency and a ban has been demanded on its release. The petition has been filed by the Sikh Sangat of Jabalpur and the Singh Mahasabha of Indore.

    The petition will be heard by a bench of Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf on September 2. Advocate Narinder Pal Singh Roopraah said that apart from actress Kangana Ranaut, the Government of India, Censor Board, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube have been made parties in the petition.

    Approval not yet received

    Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Emergency is going to release in theatres on 6 September. Amidst the demand for banning Emergency, Kangana Ranaut has claimed that the film has not yet received approval from CBFC. The story of the film is based on the Emergency of 1975.

    Sikh community angry

    The petition mentions the fact that the Sikh community across the country has become angry even before the release of the film Emergency, as there is a possibility of the Sikh community being portrayed in a wrong manner in the film, hence a demand has been made to stop the release of this film.
