    State Bureau, Naiduniya, Bhopal: To maintain the air quality of cities like Bhopal, Indore, there will be a complete ban on burning of garbage. According to the Solid Waste Management Rules-2016, burning of open biomass and garbage should be strictly banned and all Safai Mitras should be instructed not to burn the garbage after collection.

    Water sprinkling should be done regularly by identifying the hot spots in the city where there is a possibility of excessive dust formation. Such places should be identified in the city where heavy vehicle activity is carried out and these should be controlled by traffic diversion during peak hours. These instructions were given by Principal Secretary Environment Gulshan Bamra in the seventh meeting of the State Level Monitoring and Implementation Committee organized in the Ministry under the National Clean Air Program on Wednesday.

    Public awareness campaign will be run for the use of green firecrackers on Diwali

    Bamra said that a special campaign should be launched to check the PUC certificates of vehicles. He said that the use of green firecrackers should be encouraged by running a public awareness campaign during the upcoming Diwali festival. Bamra specifically urged the representatives of the urban bodies to take challan action by monitoring the activities of stubble burning in the rural areas in the fields around your city.
