T20 World Cup 2024: T20 cricket is a format in which new records are being made in every match. No one knows when which record will be broken. After the IPL, something similar is seen happening in the T20 World Cup 2024 being jointly hosted by the US and the West Indies. The Ugandan team has succeeded in registering its first win in the history of the T20 World Cup. They won the match against Papua New Guinea by 3 wickets. In this match, Frank Nsubuga, a 43-year-old player of the Ugandan team, has created a big record not only in T20 cricket but also in the T20 World Cup by showing amazing performance with the ball.

During the match against Papua New Guinea, Ugandan bowler and the oldest player in this World Cup, Frank Nsubuga, has now become the most economical player to bowl full 4 overs in the history of T20 World Cup. In the match against PNG, Nsubuga conceded 4 runs in 4 overs and also managed to take 2 wickets. Before Nsubuga, this record was in the name of South African team’s fast bowler Anrich Norkhia, who conceded 7 runs along with taking 4 wickets in his 4 overs in the match against Sri Lanka in the same World Cup.

The most economical bowler to bowl a spell of 4 overs in T20 World Cup history

Frank Nsubuga – 2 wickets 4 runs (vs Papua New Guinea, 2024)

Anrich Norkhia – 4 wickets 7 runs (vs Sri Lanka, year 2024)

Ajantha Mendis – 6 wickets 8 runs (vs Zimbabwe, 2012)

    Mahmudullah – 1 wicket 8 runs (vs Afghanistan, 2014)

Wanindu Hasaranga – 3 wickets 8 runs (vs UAE, year 2022)

Far ahead of Bumrah in being stingy

Let us tell you that Frank’s economy rate in T20 is the best in the world, this off-spinner, who has been playing for his country since 2019, has taken 57 wickets in a total of 55 matches, during this his economy is 4.71 runs per over. Which is a reflection of his frugal bowling. After Frank, Kenya’s Shem Goke is at number 2 in terms of most economical bowling, his economy rate is 6.03. At number 3 in terms of economy rate is India’s Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah’s economy rate is 6.49 after 63 T20I matches. Bumrah has also taken a total of 76 wickets in these matches.

Frank is the batsman who has bowled the most maidens in T20

Frank Subuga holds the record of bowling the most maidens in T20, i.e. 17, followed by Shame Goke (12) and then Bumrah (11). That means Subuga is ahead here too.
