Overlooking the Arabian Sea, Mandvi beach in Gujarat has become a launchpad for ambition as 594 NCC cadets defy gravity during an intensive paragliding program. Held from January 14 to 23 as part of the state joint annual camp by 36 Gujarat Battalion NCC, Bhuj, the event draws cadets from Army and Navy units of NCC Group Jamnagar.

This adventure-focused initiative aims to instill leadership, collaboration, stamina, and resolve in participants. Seasoned instructors guide them through paragliding fundamentals: rigging equipment, executing safe launches and descents, maintaining equilibrium aloft, and navigating winds.

The coastal venue offers cadets a profound chance to face fears head-on, amplify self-belief, and discover untapped potential. Brigadier P. Shashi, NCC Group Jamnagar’s commander, lauded the training’s role in tech skill-building and fear-busting, turning cadets into confident trailblazers.

Rachna Jodha, a senior cadet, raved about the jeep paragliding integrated with standard camp activities, crediting retired officers for superior instruction. Jessica Dhanani highlighted drone tech exposure, vital in recent ops and aligned with youth empowerment drives.

Veteran trainer Captain A.S. Sokin stressed pre-flight safety drills and gear familiarity to guarantee hazard-free adventures. His message to the youth: Ditch gadgets, hit the field, and let adventure spark your inner strength.

The camp’s blend of adrenaline and education promises lasting impact on these emerging leaders.
