The New York Times’ history with puzzles began with its first crossword in 1942. Since then, the newspaper has consistently introduced innovative and engaging games, including Wordle, Connections, and Strands.
Today’s puzzle theme is ‘Things are starting to take shape.’
Hints are offered to guide players. The Spangram hint involves ‘a math lesson focused on shapes, angles, lines, and spatial reasoning.’ The solution words are: LINE, CIRCLE, ANGLE, AREA, VOLUME, PLANE, and POINT. The Spangram is ‘GeometryClass.’
The goal in Strands is to connect letters on a grid to create theme-related words. The Spangram connects opposite sides and often summarizes the overall theme.
