    The legendary Hindi film ‘Sholay’ is set to be screened at the Toronto Film Festival, celebrating its 50th anniversary. Directed by Ramesh Sippy and featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, the film, which first released in 1975, remains a favorite among audiences. This special event will take place in Toronto, Canada, located 11,600 kilometers away from India. The Film Heritage Foundation announced the screening on social media. The Toronto Film Festival will run from September 4th to September 14th, with the ‘Sholay’ screening scheduled for September 6th. The screening will be in 4K. The film’s screenplay was written by Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar, with music composed by R.D. Burman. The movie featured Dharmendra as Jai and Amitabh Bachchan as Veeru. Amjad Khan’s portrayal of the dacoit Gabbar Singh was iconic, and his dialogue “Kitne aadmi the?” became famous. Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan played the female lead characters, alongside Sanjeev Kumar, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Mac Mohan, and Asrani. The film was made with a budget of 3 crore rupees, achieving a worldwide gross collection of 50 crore rupees, with India’s net collection alone reaching 15 crore rupees, showcasing its significant impact.
