The Bengaluru stampede, which occurred during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) IPL victory celebrations and resulted in the deaths of 11 people, has prompted strong condemnation from Union Minister Pralhad Joshi. He has called for the immediate resignations of Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, accusing them of being irresponsible and insensitive in managing the situation. Joshi pointed out that warnings from the DCP regarding the dangers of large-scale celebrations were reportedly ignored, as was a request from the Police Commissioner to postpone the event due to insufficient resources. Joshi stressed the moral accountability of the state government and questioned their decision to suspend police officers. The RCB team was previously celebrated by the Karnataka government. Following the stampede, the government suspended top police officials and began a probe.
