In a recent meeting held at the Korba Collectorate, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai announced a budget increase for the Central Tribal Development Authority, raising it from 50 crore to 75 crore rupees. The primary goal is to improve the lives of Scheduled Tribes in the central region. The meeting signified the authority’s first meeting since its reorganization, emphasizing a fresh approach to tribal welfare and holistic development. The government is prioritizing the welfare and comprehensive development of the tribal community, with ample resources allocated for development initiatives. The Chhattisgarh government has established various tribal development authorities, including those for Bastar, Surguja, and the central region, along with the Scheduled Caste Development Authority and the Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Development Authorities, promoting an inclusive approach to development. These authorities are focused on accelerating development projects in tribal areas, ensuring transparency, and delivering public services to every village and family. To enhance representation and expertise, the authority now includes members from the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, District Panchayat Presidents, and experts in tribal development. The PM Janman Yojana is opening up new opportunities in tribal areas, and the government is focusing on special schemes in education, health, and livelihoods for tribal communities. The government is also encouraging the strengthening of self-help groups to empower tribal women. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma emphasized the importance of preserving tribal culture. Infrastructure projects are underway under the Dharti Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan and PM Janman Yojana. The government also announced allocations for sports, education, tourism, and irrigation projects, including measures to complete unfinished projects and improve existing infrastructure.
