A new motorcycle is slated to be released in the Indian cafe racer segment on August 6. The Triumph Thruxton 400 is set to be launched, becoming the third model following the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. These models have already gained recognition in the entry-level premium segment.

The new bike is another model created on Triumph’s 400cc platform, built in collaboration with Bajaj Auto. Upon its release, it will rival motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.

The Thruxton 400 will feature the same 398cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. In these motorcycles, the engine produces 39.5 bhp of power and 37.5 nm of torque and is connected to a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. However, the Thruxton’s engine may have slight modifications to enhance its sporty performance and throttle responsiveness.

Regarding pricing, the Triumph Speed 400 costs ₹2.40 lakh and the Scrambler 400X ₹2.65 lakh (ex-showroom). With the Thruxton 400’s premium styling and positioning, the price is estimated to be around ₹2.80 lakh (ex-showroom). This would make it the most expensive of Triumph’s 400cc range in India.

Early glimpses of the Triumph Thruxton 400 have emerged on social media, displaying its retro, stylish design with a distinct British flair. The front fairing, which appears to be inspired by fighter jets, is expected to have a round LED headlight. The Thruxton 400 will provide a sporty riding position, typical of cafe racers, due to its low-set clip-on handlebars and slightly rear-set footpegs.
