He mentioned that he was disappointed by the lack of progress towards a peace agreement following their meeting in Alaska. Putin is currently on a visit to China, which includes participation in a military parade. Trump met with Putin in Alaska in August and later hosted Ukrainian President Zelenskyy in Washington with European and NATO leaders. Trump expressed his hope that Zelenskyy and Putin would have a direct meeting before any trilateral discussions, which he would attend. Zelenskyy has accused Moscow of creating obstacles in such talks, while Russia maintains that the agenda is still under development.
