A bold move in international diplomacy: U.S. President Donald Trump has personally invited Vladimir Putin to join his envisioned ‘Board of Peace’ for Gaza, according to Kremlin statements. Officials in Moscow are dissecting the proposal, expecting detailed talks with the U.S. to move forward.

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s top spokesperson, briefed journalists on the development. Responding to queries, he said, ‘The invitation to President Putin arrived through diplomatic means for this Board of Peace. Our team is analyzing it closely,’ per TASS reports. He stressed the need for comprehensive briefings from Washington.

This board emerges as the next step in Gaza’s peace process, after phase one wrapped up in October 2025 with mediation from Egypt, Qatar, America, and Turkey involving Israel and Hamas. Despite Russia’s pariah status in Western eyes over Ukraine, the invite opens a door to renewed engagement.

Positioned as Gaza’s central oversight entity, the Trump-chaired body will feature world leaders. Invites extend to India and numerous others. A Reuters-sourced letter and draft outline lifelong Trump leadership, starting locally and scaling globally. Nations commit to three-year stints, with $1 billion allegedly needed for enduring seats.

Seasoned diplomats caution that such a setup might sideline the UN, creating a rival framework for peace. As the world watches, this could herald innovative, if controversial, paths to Middle East stability.
