During the meeting, Trump thanked Munir for his role in preventing the escalation of the conflict between India and Pakistan. The meeting took place amid rising international tensions. Trump’s stated reason for the meeting was to express gratitude. The significance of the meeting has been highlighted, particularly in light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Discussions also included topics such as critical minerals, crypto, and counter-terrorism. Trump has claimed credit for averting war between India and Pakistan. India’s Prime Minister noted that the ceasefire was a result of talks between the Indian and Pakistani militaries. The meeting with Munir is considered important. Munir stated Pakistan’s support for Iran and backed de-escalation efforts. There were protests against Munir during his visit to Washington, DC.
