In response to a shooting near the White House involving an Afghan national and National Guard members, President Donald Trump has announced a significant and permanent halt to immigration from ‘Third World Countries.’ The President stated the measure is necessary for the U.S. system to ‘fully recover.’

This policy shift could dramatically affect millions globally who plan to immigrate to the U.S. for economic, educational, or humanitarian reasons. Trump explained on Truth Social that America’s immigration policies have paradoxically hindered its technological achievements and worsened living conditions for many. He aims to recalibrate these policies to better serve the nation.

The proposed executive actions are comprehensive. They include ending all immigration from designated countries, rescinding numerous prior admissions, and expelling individuals deemed detrimental to the U.S. or unpatriotic. Furthermore, Trump intends to cease federal aid to non-citizens, revoke citizenship from migrants disrupting domestic order, and deport any foreign national classified as a public charge, security risk, or incompatible with ‘Western Civilization.’

Earlier, Trump vehemently condemned the shooting incident, describing it as a ‘heinous assault’ and a ‘crime against humanity.’ He identified the suspect as an Afghan national who arrived in 2021, referring to Afghanistan as a ‘hellhole.’ This move comes shortly after U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services placed an indefinite hold on all immigration processing for Afghan nationals.
