Former President Donald Trump has suggested that Ukraine should be allowed to escalate its military actions against Russia, contrasting with his prior statements on peace. Trump stated that it’s difficult to win a war without attacking the invading country. He criticized President Biden for not allowing Ukraine to fight back, labeling his approach as ‘grossly incompetent’. Trump asserted that the war would not have begun during his presidency. These remarks follow a recent series of events, including a significant Russian attack on Ukraine and a meeting between Trump and Putin that did not result in a ceasefire. Trump has also expressed interest in a trilateral meeting with Putin and Zelenskyy. The US is considering providing security guarantees to Ukraine, while also stating that it will not send troops to Ukraine.
