Former President Donald Trump is continuing to advocate for his tariff-centric approach to international relations, claiming it has been instrumental in preventing global conflicts. He recently posted on Truth Social, stating that the U.S. was “taking in TRILLIONS of Dollars in Tariffs and Investment Dollars from foreign lands because of Tariffs.”

Trump’s most striking claim is that “I have stopped 5 of the eight WARS directly because of the threat of Tariffs if they don’t stop fighting or, better yet, if they start.” This suggests a belief that the mere threat of financial penalties was enough to deter major military actions.

This narrative builds on earlier claims, such as his intervention in the India-Pakistan tensions through tariff threats, an intervention not officially acknowledged by India. His repeated emphasis underscores his view of tariffs as a powerful diplomatic weapon.

In another significant development, Trump has reportedly set a November 27 deadline for Ukraine to react to a 28-point peace plan designed to end the Russia-Ukraine war. This move comes after Ukrainian President Zelenskyy spoke about tough decisions facing the country. Trump suggested the deadline could be flexible if talks showed positive momentum, labeling the date as a key time for assessing progress.
