Shambhu Singh, a member of the extremist group TSPC, has been arrested by police in Chhatarpur. Singh was apprehended while attempting to collect levy, or extortion money. Interrogation revealed his involvement in a clash between police and the TSPC during the recent assembly elections. He was part of the group led by Zonal Commander Shashikant. DSP Awadh Kumar Yadav stated that on October 24, 2024, police received information about a planned incident by Shashikant Ganjhu and his squad in the Turidag forests of Chhatarpur. A police raid led to a firefight, with police seizing Naxalite materials. The extremists fled the scene. Police later learned that Shambhu Singh was in Palwa Tola, Morchwa, Chhatarpur, to collect levy. He was arrested, and two mobile phones were confiscated. Singh has a criminal record, with cases pending against him under the Arms Act and for Naxalite activities in various police stations, including Manatu, Naudiha Bazar, Vishrampur, Rehla, and Chhatarpur. The operation was conducted by several police officers, including the Station In-charge Prashant Prasad, and armed police forces.
