In fact, the video of beating of a railway passenger in train number 12503 coming from Barauni to Lucknow went viral on social media. This video was of Deputy CTI Prakash while checking tickets in S-6 between Gonda to Barabanki. After the video of the beating of the passenger went viral on social media, on the instructions of the CPRO of North Eastern Railway, the competent authority suspended the concerned checking staff for his misbehavior with immediate effect and ordered a departmental inquiry into the incident.

According to the Railways, this incident took place on January 18, 2024 in train number 15203 Barauni-Lucknow Express running between Gonda and Barabanki. The name of the checking staff has been stated as Deputy CTI Prakash Headquarters, Lucknow Junction.
