Elephant activity has intensified in the Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh. On Friday morning, the presence of two tuskers was confirmed in the Rajim area, causing alarm.

Sources state that one elephant is located in the Khudesa forest, and another in the Tarjungha forest, which are close to the Nagar Panchayat Fingeshwar. It is believed that one elephant has entered the area from Mahasamund district, while the other has come from the Dhamtari district border. The Forest Department has responded by issuing a high alert to around 25 villages. Residents are advised to avoid the forest area, and public announcements are being used to inform the public.

The Forest Department and Elephant Mitra Dal members are actively involved in surveillance to avert any harm to people or damage to crops. The Forest Department has requested villagers to ignore rumors and cooperate with the forest authorities.

The Forest Department is monitoring the situation closely.

Local residents are advised to remain vigilant and composed.
