Vietnam is preparing for the landfall of Typhoon Kaziki, which is anticipated to be the most powerful storm of the year. The typhoon is approaching Vietnam’s central coast, with wind speeds reaching 175 km/h. Airports and educational institutions have been closed nationwide as a precautionary measure. Several flights have been canceled due to the impending weather. The government has ordered the evacuation of 586,000 people from four provinces. Over 150,000 families have been instructed to move to safer locations. The typhoon is moving across the South China Sea. Heavy rainfall has been reported in the coastal city of Vinh. Restrictions on sea travel have been enforced by seven coastal provinces. A large number of rescue personnel are ready to assist. China’s Sanya city is also bracing for the impact of Kaziki.
