Bangladesh Under-19s marched into the Super Six of the 2026 ICC Under-19 World Cup with a convincing seven-wicket victory over USA at Harare’s Takashinga Sports Club on January 23. India had pioneered Group B’s qualifiers, now joined by Bangladesh and New Zealand.

    USA, batting first post-toss loss, posted 199. They lost two quick wickets at 6, prompting a fightback. Srivastava-Garg’s 51-run third-wicket alliance (90 balls) featured Garg’s 35 (60 balls, 2×6, 2×4). At 89 for 5, Srivastava exited for 39 (65 balls).

Jhanb’s resilient 68* (69 balls, 1×6, 3×4) lifted the score, with a key 43-run eighth-wicket partnership alongside Kappu. Iqbal Hussain Emon’s three wickets led Bangladesh’s bowling, matched by doubles from Al Fihad, Shahriar Ahmed, and Mohammad Rizan Hussain.

    Target in sight, Bangladesh cruised home in 41.3 overs. Abbar’s 47 (42 balls, 3×6, 5×4) and Beg’s 30 (55 balls, 3×4) opened with 78 runs in 14.2 overs. Tamim’s elegant 64 (82 balls, 2×6, 2×4) paired with Siddiqui’s 30* for an 88-run third-wicket stand to finish the job.

Ritvik Appidi, Utkarsh Srivastava, and Sahil Garg picked one each for USA. This clinical performance cements Bangladesh’s status as contenders, promising exciting Super Six battles.
