The third day of the India vs. West Indies Test in Ahmedabad was marked by a stunning catch by Nitish Kumar Reddy, enhancing India’s position. The West Indies faced a mounting threat of defeat, especially following Reddy’s athletic feat. The catch’s video quickly circulated on social media. This match marks Reddy’s return after recovering from an injury.

Catch Breakdown: India declared their first innings at 448 runs for 5 wickets. The West Indies needed a good start in their second innings, but Reddy’s fielding prevented this. He dismissed West Indies opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul with an incredible catch.

Reddy’s catch happened in the 8th over. Siraj delivered a short ball, and Chanderpaul attempted a pull shot to the left. Reddy dove to his left to take a spectacular catch. Chanderpaul, after scoring a duck in the first innings, was out for 8 runs in the second innings. This match sees Reddy back in Test cricket after an absence.

Reddy and the England Series: Nitish Kumar Reddy was selected for the five-match Test series against England, but was sidelined because of a knee injury during training, forcing him to miss the final two Tests. Reddy made his Test debut during the Australia tour, and the England tour didn’t go as planned. He didn’t play in the first match, but replaced Shardul Thakur in the second.

He scored 1 run in each innings and did not take wickets with his bowling in that match. He was selected for the third Test, where he took 3 wickets and scored 30 and 13 runs. He spent a good amount of time at the crease, but couldn’t convert them into big scores. Reddy was not given a chance to bat in the first innings of the first Test against the West Indies.
