Devotees in Ayodhya are in for a treat this Holi, as the Uttar Pradesh administration fast-tracks the floating public bath pond project on the revered Saryu River. Targeted for inauguration before the festival, the kund represents a harmonious fusion of ancient rituals and contemporary infrastructure.

Spanning over 4,000 square meters, the floating structure features multi-level platforms, life-saving equipment, and real-time water quality monitors. ‘We’ve ensured it’s not just functional but also aesthetically pleasing, mirroring the grandeur of Ramayana-era ghats,’ explained the project lead engineer.

From inception to near-completion, the initiative has seen round-the-clock work crews battling environmental hurdles. Government funding and local support have propelled it forward, making the Holi deadline achievable. Pilgrims, who flock in thousands during festivals, will finally have a dedicated, secure space for ritual dips.

The pond’s design incorporates sustainable practices like rainwater harvesting and biodegradable materials, setting a green benchmark for similar projects. Holi preparations include floral decorations and lighting setups to create a festive ambiance.

As Ayodhya evolves into a beacon of faith and progress, this floating kund symbolizes hope and renewal—much like the festival itself. Local traders anticipate a boom in visitors, while spiritual leaders bless the endeavor as a step towards ‘Ram Rajya.’ With colors ready to fly, the Saryu will sparkle brighter than ever.
