The NCP has intensified its preparations for the upcoming urban local body elections in Jharkhand, with a significant strategy session held in Mango, East Singhbhum. The meeting, chaired by Saurav Ojha and managed by Mohammed Rizwan, was attended by Dr. Pawan Pandey, the National General Secretary (Urban Bodies) of the NCP, as the chief guest.

Dr. Pandey conveyed that following the completion of the Ghatshila by-election, the Election Commission is expected to announce dates for urban local body elections in the state soon. He urged all party workers to gear up for intense political campaigning and organizational work. A primary concern for the NCP is the demand for fair and adequate reservation for SC and OBC communities in these elections. The party pointed out that many individuals in these categories have not yet received their caste certificates, which is a barrier to their participation as candidates in reserved wards.

He explained that reservation is a tool for social justice, aiming to uplift disadvantaged sections of society. If the intended beneficiaries cannot access these reserved positions due to administrative lapses, the reservation system fails in its objective. Dr. Pandey encouraged the party cadre to organize a strong movement and raise awareness about the necessity of caste certificates, emphasizing their role in securing educational, employment, and health benefits for the SC and OBC populations.

The meeting saw the participation of several key NCP leaders and activists, such as Jitendra Mishra, Tejpal Singh Tony, Lalit Dhingra, Anwar Hussain, Abdul Jabbar, and Firoz Ahmed.
