The tragic death of Mohammad Nizamuddin, a 30-year-old engineer from Telangana, India, has shocked the community after a shooting in Santa Clara, California on September 3rd. The incident unfolded following a reported dispute with his roommate. The engineer’s father received the devastating news on Thursday.

Seeking support, Nizamuddin’s father, Mohammad Hasanuddin, has contacted India’s External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, appealing for help in bringing his son’s remains back to India. He has expressed his confusion and sorrow over the events that led to his son’s death.

Reports indicate a disagreement concerning the air conditioning sparked the initial confrontation between Nizamuddin and his roommate. The altercation escalated, culminating in police involvement and the tragic shooting of Nizamuddin.

A friend of Nizamuddin relayed that the argument eventually turned violent with the use of knives. Witnesses state that when police arrived and issued instructions, only one individual complied, while Nizamuddin did not. The police subsequently fired shots, leading to his death. The police’s account indicates they found Nizamuddin with a knife, holding his roommate. The shooting occurred during an encounter between Nizamuddin and law enforcement.

Following the shooting, Nizamuddin was pronounced dead at the hospital. His roommate is currently receiving medical attention. The incident has raised serious questions about the events leading up to the fatal shooting.
