As Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin met in Alaska after a six-year hiatus, the United States showcased its air power with a dramatic flyover. Trump greeted Putin at the Anchorage air base, after which a formation of American military aircraft flew overhead.

The flyover included both fighter jets and a B-2 stealth bomber. Observers interpreted the aerial display as potentially holding multiple purposes. The show of force came as the two leaders met on Alaskan soil.

As Trump and Putin shook hands, B-2 bombers roared over Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.

Putin also glanced upwards at the planes. Many have interpreted the fly-by as a sign of American air superiority, with some even suggesting the flyover was a warning to Russia.

Global attention is centered on the meeting. It is hoped that the meeting will lead to positive outcomes. There is also hope that Zelensky will be able to participate in the next meeting. A potential ceasefire could also be announced in the upcoming meetings.
