Thirty-two entities and individuals across the globe, including from India, are now under U.S. sanctions for allegedly aiding Iran’s ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) programs. The U.S. State Department announced the sanctions, emphasizing that they are part of a broader strategy to halt Iran’s advanced weapons development. The targeted networks are accused of supplying essential components for Iran’s military advancements.

This action complements the U.S. push to reimpose UN sanctions on Iran, stemming from alleged violations of its nuclear commitments. Treasury officials have publicly stated that Iran is leveraging international financial markets to fund its weapons expansion and that the U.S. is determined to apply ‘maximum pressure’ to deter these activities. The U.S. is urging the international community to fully enforce these measures.

Farmlane Private Limited, an Indian firm, has been identified as part of a procurement network involved in obtaining materials like sodium chlorate, a key ingredient for missile propellants. The U.S. Treasury Department has pledged to continue its efforts to disrupt such foreign-based operations that contribute to Iran’s missile and UAV capabilities, citing their destabilizing effect on international security.
